A mug with the cryetalline glaze Strelitzia, named for the orange and blue colors similar to the beautiful flower native to South Africa whose common name is bird of paradise flower/plant, because of a resemblance of its flowers to birds-of-paradise. Transparent glaze is applied inside the mug.
The mug is 100% handmade, thrown on my potter’s wheel and a handle with thumb rest is manually attached. The material is stoneware with porcelean slip applied outside. It is fired with 20-hour schedule with additional whole day of cooling period.
It can contain 400 cc liquid if filled to the rim, making it suitable for both tea and coffee.
It is food safe, and can be washed in a dishwasher and is microwave safe.
